Jakarta, Aktual.com – CEO Freeport McMoRan, Richard C. Adkerson menyepakati untuk melepas saham PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) sebesar 51 persen melalui negosiasi yang dilakukan sejak Februari 2017.
Selain itu, Richard juga menyepakati pembangunan smelter dengan syarat adanya kepastian divestasi atau perpanjangan kontrak. Kontrak yang didapat oleh Freeport kedepannya berupa Izin Usaha Pertambangan Kontrak (IUPK).
“I want to emphasize our willingness to divest 51 percent and to build a smelter is a major concession and compromise on our part. We appreciate the leadership of pres Joko Widodo,” Richard saat memberikan keterangan pers di Kementerian ESDM, Selasa (29/8).
Saat ini pemerintah telah memegang 9,36 persen dari saham Freeport, sehingga pihak Freeport akan melepas sisa saham untuk mencukupi 51 persen.
“To reach our objectives, meant that we have to be willing to cooperate and build a smelter and divest 51 percent. We are working cooperatively with the govt ro achieve these objectives. We have agreed to increase indonesian ownership from 9 percent to 51 percent over time in a way that compensates the fair market value. We still have work to do to reach the compromise,” pungkasnya.
